Technologies like AI, blockchain, VR, IoT would continue the stride along the path and converge to a technology disruption human species have ever encountered. Along with other tech giants like Google, Amazon, Meta etc. Microsoft has also geared up with the accelerated technology revolution.
Microsoft Ignite in November 2021 gave an insight into what's going to come. First of all, 2022 will be marked by ubiquitous computing and the metaverse. This means more connected devices, more generated data, and more computing will enter our everyday life. Microsoft is an active participant in this process. It contributes to digitalization and robotization by introducing cutting-edge innovations through its cloud platform.
What to look for in Azure?
Azure Percept - Bringing the power of AI to the edge. With Percept, Microsoft adds new ways for customers to bring AI to the edge. At its Ignite digital conference, Microsoft unveiled the public preview of Azure Percept, a platform of hardware and services that aims to simplify the ways in which customers can use Azure AI technologies on the edge – including taking advantage of Azure cloud offerings such as device management, AI model development and analytics. With Percept, AI models can be deployed on low-power computers, implementing various scenarios from detecting objects to identifying anomalies and nontypical behavior patterns.
Enterprise Metaverse - The Microsoft Cloud provides a comprehensive set of resources designed to power metaverses. Year 2022, will be the year of unification of these technology stacks. IoT capabilities that enable customers to create “digital twins” of physical objects in the cloud; utilizing Microsoft Mesh to build a shared sense of presence on devices; and using AI-powered resources to create natural interactions through speech and vision machine learning models.
Azure Arc - The innovative Azure Arc platform brings the development of ML models closer, allowing you to deploy the Azure ML service on any Kubernetes cluster. You can do this both in the cloud and on-premises, reducing network latency and complying with regulatory requirements.
Azure OpenAI Service - Gives customers access to OpenAI’s powerful models in addition to the security, reliability, compliance, data privacy and other enterprise-grade capabilities built into Microsoft Azure. OpenAI services will be provided with capabilities to monitor how people are employing the technology to assure it is being used correctly.
Other major Azure AI updates are introduced with Cognitive Service for Language. Text Analytics, QnA Maker, and Language Understanding functions are now united, providing developers with a fully-packed service to implement text and voice recognition features in an app. And with Language Studio, you can start integrating cognitive functions without the need to write code by using available client libraries and REST APIs in your project.
GPT-3 – A neural network model capable of generating text identical to that written by a human. Built by OpenAI, GPT-3 is part of a new class of models that can be customized to handle a wide variety of use cases that require a deep understanding of language, from converting natural language to software code to summarizing large amounts of text and generating answers to questions.
Some of these are still in trial phase, and some are already fully operational. There’s a lot to absorb and try in the coming days!!
